Peterson & Seligman (2004) 指出勇敢 (Bravery) 是指一種儘管害怕都要去做的能力。勇敢可以助人在面對困難時仍選擇正確的事，例如在面對道德議題上能對抗同儕壓力，作出正確的決定。

勇敢是令人滿足的，因為當我們能夠在這個充滿恐懼擔憂的世上，仍能以行動戰勝恐懼時，我們就會感到滿足 (Peterson & Seligman, 2004)。你有沒有試過在父母反對你的選擇時嘗試據理力爭？就算最終未必能夠改變對方的想法，但看見那個願意鼓起勇氣去力排眾議的自己，無疑是令人滿足的，畢竟至少，你已經用盡你的能力去嘗試抗爭。
